Hello, we are Simply Shelving, we are a Family Run Business with over 20+ Years of Business Experience. My wife & I have 5 Children 4-22.

We feel that we know what customers want, we like to be able to cater to many different Trades & Needs alongside our Affordable Prices, we know that it can be hard for some people to startup their own business, or even replace a tool or machine, that is why we try our hardest to make our products affordable for everyone.

This personal story of mine is how we went from making Mowing Lawns, to selling DVD's & Furniture for 18 Years. 

This story makes me so passionate about my business & making sure that we can cater to everyone, because we truly know how hard it can be.

I was only 14 when I began doing paper rounds locally, after a few years I slowly began working with my dad on Weekends making the concrete pool slabs. My first Real job was working with a man who had his own car business, I would do general jobs like washing the vehicles & cleaning up the workplace, nothing special, It was not easy waking up at 7 to catch a bus to work in the rain up until 6pm, lucky I was fortunate enough to have my Nonna always supporting me & making sure I was ready for everyday.

 

My first business was with my wife when we started going door to door mowing lawns, my Dad, always lending a hand, he drove us around & helped out when he could, I do not miss the days when it would rain & we would have to push through with our mower & whipper snipper. We then started selling DVD's on the side, I remember driving down to Sydney in a Rental Van to get an order we purchased, We had our factory setup with a little store that had a range of Baby products, DVD's & Video Games, the other half was our workshop for our furniture. During that time I was building up my Trades skills & Cabinet Making Trade. After the lawn mowing  My wife & I then I officially started our Furniture/Cabinet Making business, It was hard work, getting to work at 8am & sometimes finishing work at 10pm. But before this, I had to make a hard decision in my life, I clearly remember walking in with my Dad to Bunnings, saying I am going to buy a Saw, I walked in, saw the price & had to think long & hard, long story short it was the last bit of cash I had left, if this didn't work, then I would be in all sorts of trouble, I walked out not buying it, but with an impulsive decision I went in & purchased the Saw. I walked out & got straight to work. I made 1 Cabinet, My wife & I drove around in my Dads pickup truck looking for Furniture stores to sell our product to, it was our last hope. We found not 1 but 2 places that saw our potential & the high quality standards we had.

It was over the next 18 years where we sold our products to other retail outlets working 8am-9pm Days. During those years we had began producing Kids Tables & Chairs, Cabinets, Cupboards & Furniture. Drilling, Gluing, Puttying, Sanding & making sure the furniture was in perfect shape to be distributed. That was how we started, along the rocky road we had our 4 Little boys who also saw first hand the work life. We still have videos of them eager to walk up & down the factory with pieces of offcuts that they would glue together to create timber boats. 

We ended up falling into doing shelving, we had a lot of experience in storage & furniture so we thought we would give it a crack.

 

So our goal from the start was & still is to make sure supply our customers with affordable & good quality storage & tools/equipment. So we did shelving for a few years, then the rest is history. We are now providing customers & people of all trades to our range of products that we have.

Jose - Age - Lost track (Thinks they did a typo on his birth certificate) Started of working with his Dad Concreting Pools then did Lawns & finally started Cabinet Making All alongside Karen ​

Karen- Reception & Customer Service Age- Convinced she is 21. Worked as a Disability Carer for 10+ Years whilst helping out with the Furniture Making Business alongside Jose ​

Branden- In store worker Age- 23 Finished school & has been working with Simply Shelving ever since

 

Joshua- In store worker Age- 18 Just finished school & has been working with Simply Shelving since 2022

 

We have raised 5 Children, so we fully understand the Day to Day Expenses & Struggle that can come alongside raising a Healthy Family, that is why we try our absolute hardest to make sure you are getting your moneys worth.
